After much anticipation, the Madatech Education Center was inaugurated on Tuesday, December 11, in a festive event at Madatech – Israel's National Museum of Science, Technology and Space. Housed in the Historic Technion Building, this multi-educational center was launched after comprehensive renovations, including the establishment of many innovational facilities such as advanced science laboratories and halls. An estimated 10 million dollars were invested in this state of the art venture.
The launching event took place from 10am to 5 pm and was planned as an exciting, fun filled experience for the whole family. The event hosted two major attractions; Nimrod Harel's The Science behind Magic show and a live interactive game with actor Ben Perry in association with Logi, the cable TV children's channel, in which guests met famous inventors, participated in scientific workshops, and took part in exciting experiments presented in the new laboratories.
The festive launching ceremony took place in the presence of Nobel Prize winner, Prof. Avram Hershko from the Technion Institute, Haifa's mayor, Mr. Yona Yahav, the Technion Institute's senior vice president, Prof. Paul D. Feigen, Madatech's general director Prof. Yoram Zvirin, Madatech's deputy director -general, Dr. Ronen Mir, directors and inspectors from the Haifa district education division, school principals and teachers from schools across the country and many other guests
The inventive center sprawls over 3 floors and 3000 square meters. It inhabits first class equipped laboratories, study halls alongside experiment and operation stations. Study materials are in full accordance with the ministry of education curriculum, designed for all ages and levels. Activities include various demonstrations of scientific phenomena, laboratory live experiments, model constructions and a tour throughout the museum.
Mr. Leon Recanati, associate chairman in Madatech, adds: "the varied activities in the center aim towards an audience of thousands of students, teachers and parents, mostly directed for technology and science students.
For the first time in Israel, this unique and innovative center enables science teachers to facilitate a varied and enhanced science curriculum, through utilization of brief, focused and thrilling new experiences"

After School Science Activities – operating in the afternoon, these activities are directed for first grade to sixth grade children, nursery school children and their parents.
Science and Astronomy out reach program – A special science Mobile Unit , operating at schools throughout the country.
